Yay, got Pikachu today. Well I need it. It's my favorite Pokémon and will do some good job for the electro type.
But I'll have to face it. According to the Pokémon Go Tier List the maximum CP for Pikachu is 887. This means it won't be anywhere near the strongest Pokémon. But I will use it whenever I can. Oh and yes, I need to catch many many more Pikachus to power him up.
And yes, I will evolve one to Raichu which gives him a max of 2028 CP.
